So the week has arrived. The Sydney Festival of Football is set to Kick off in a few days time, and the media build up in Australia has already started.

I can personally assure you, Vital Blackburn will be the only place where you will get all the latest information including live match reports. The reason I can assure you this, is because yours trully will be wedged in the middle of all 5 Blackburn Rovers supporters, and possibly Brett Emertons family in the Blackburn Supporters end at the Sydney Football Stadium.

For those who arent aware of the schedule

Sunday 25th of July- Blackburn Rovers V Glasgow Rangers, 3pm, Sydney Football Stadium

Wednesday 28th of July- Blackburn Rovers V AEK Athens, 6pm, Sydney Football Stadium

Saturday 31st July- Blackburn Rovers v Sydney FC, 7.15pm, Sydney Football Stadium

Today’s Daily Telegraph newspaper provides an A3 Wall Poster of Blackburn Rovers, and on the reverse side Glasgow Rangers ( but who really cares about that side aye)

The poster shows Brett Emerton striking a ball in all its glory, a ferocious Chris Samba emphatically celebrating a goal, and El Hadji Diouf (for some reason) performing an acrobatic volley.

‘The Blackburn Rovers squad comes together from all corners of the globe covering no less then 17 nations from four continents. From the Club captain, New Zealander Ryan Nelsen, to Senegals El Hadji Diouf and Spaniard Michel Salgado to home-grown talents like David Dunn and Phil Jones, the squad reflects how football has grown into the truly global phenomenon you see today’

Club History

‘Rovers are a club of firsts. One of three clubs to be founder members of the Football League and the Premier league, the first club to win the FA Cup three times in a row, the first town team to win the Premier League and the first football club to win a trophy in the 1800s, 1900s and 200s when they won the League Cup in 2002’

The poster also provides us a 28 man touring party

Goalkeepers- Paul Robinson, Jason Brown, Mark Bunn

Defenders- Ryan Nelsen, Chris Samba, Michel Salgado, Gael Givet, Lars Jacobsen, Phil Jones, Pascal Chimbonda, Zurab Khizanishvilli, Grant Hanley, Gavin Gunning

Forwards- Aarpm Doran, El Hadji Diouf, Jason Roberts, Nikola Kalinic, Junior Hoillett.
