Rovers Duo (Maybe Trio) To Return

Blackburn Rovers have been given a MASSIVE boost by the news that Birthday boys Ryan Nelsen and Robbie Savage have given out presents instead of receiving them.

On your birthday you usually receive presents don’t you, but Rovers captain, and defensive lynchpin Nelsen (who has turned 30) and the annoying (for opponents anyway) yet highly instrumental component of our midfield Savage (who has turned 33) have both given out Rovers presents with the news that they will both be available for selection this Saturday’s Premier League clash with Reading at Ewood Park. They have trained during the International break after hamstring and leg problems respectively, and are fit enough to return to the squad, most likely the starting XI (well almost certainly God anyway?!?!)

This news was superb, but there could be EVEN MORE great news!!! Another that MIGHT also come into contention after some intensive treatment at Brockhall this past week (with it thought he would be out until at least the start of November) could be Roque Santa Cruz! The Paraguayan International had to withdraw from his countries International fixtures with tendonitis in his knee, having previously been receiving pain-killing injections to play. However, he has responded to the extensive treatment and the Rovers top goalscorer could play some part as well.

Meanwhile, although he was not unavailable prior to this match Matt Derbyshire (who had limped out of the England Under-21’s victory over the Republic of Ireland this week) has also shaken off his knock, and is expected to be fit as well.
