Blackburn Rovers are understood to have been given a green light to use highly-rated Junior Hoilett this season with newspaper reports saying a work permit has been granted.

It’s understood that a special appeals committee has ruled in favour of Rovers (in a landmark case) so the 19-year-old striker is now free to begin his Rovers career. Hoilett wasn’t expected to be granted a work permit so it was thought he’d have to leave Ewood Park, however, if these newspaper reports are accurate Hoilett is now free to play for Rovers.

The Canadian striker spent last season on loan with German side St Pauli.
