Nabeel Chowdery is the man, he has made a fortune in property and is a close friend of Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

The club’s chairman John Williams confirmed earlier this summer that Rovers would be willing to discuss a buy-out, they even assigned Rothschild to find a suitable buyer.

A takeover by Chowdery could mean a huge transfer kitty for new Rovers boss Paul Ince, which would help us sustain our status at the right end of the table

Chowdery, who is not a Rovers fan (that we know of anyway!), said a deal will be completed if Williams lowers the asking price.

Chowdery spoke to the People newspaper and revealed the following – ‘I think it’s probably worth £40million, but the price they are asking is too high,’

‘If they wanted to come to a realistic figure we could have a deal.’

2 potential suitors have fallen by the way side due to the same problem. The American-based Dan Williams and JJB chief executive Chris Ronnie were both close to a takeover but felt the board were asking too much. This is bearing in mind they would be buying the clubs portfolio of small debts and loans as well.

The trustees of Rovers` late benefactor Jack Walker own 99.9 percent of the club’s shareholding, and have been accused in the past of setting an unrealistic price.

So in response to this I, Mikey, say the following…

*Blackburn is a fans club and you say it is in the best interest of the club to have new owners in the forseeable future so please accept the following as a plea…

LOWER YOUR ASKING PRICE AND LET US TAKE A STEP FORWARD. GREED GETS YOU NOWHERE.
