Blackburn Rovers are understood to be lining up an January transfer swoop for Middlesbrough’s Gary O’Neil.

The midfielder remained with Middlesbrough despite their relegation from the Premier League last season, however, his performances in the Championship are understood to have caught the eye of Sam Allardyce and several other Premier League managers, all of whom are planning to make a move for the 26-year-old when the transfer window opens??

Skysports.com reports that we’d face competition from Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Fulham, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic for the former Portsmouth and England Under-21 International who would cost around £4 million.

O’Neil has always looked a good footballer when I’ve seen him but I don’t personally think that we need another midfielder do we??

Meanwhile Skysports.com is also linking us with Standard Liege striker Dieumerci M’Bokani.

The Congo International has a mightily impressive goalscoring record for Liege (32 goals in 62 matches) and is understood to be interested in a move to the Premier League in January with Arsenal and Liverpool also understood to be monitoring the 23-year-olds progress.
