Rovers Looking To Meet Targets

Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes recently set Rovers a target of eight wins from the final eleven games; it’s now two down six to go!

In order for European qualification to be achieved once again via the Premiership Hughes recently set a target of eight wins from eleven matches, following back to back victories over fellow European contenders Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers Rovers are now within three points of sixth placed Everton.

We have got nine games left and a couple of weeks ago I said I wanted eight wins from 11. I certainly think it is do-able,” said Hughes.

I think we are better when we have targets. Some people might think they are unrealistic but we set the same targets last year and we hit them.

It is a big ask but we are very much in with a shout for a European position. Given the injuries we have had I think it is remarkable that we find ourselves in this position.”

With the majority of the matches coming against teams you would think we could beat, with the bottom three all set to visit Ewood Park before the season is out we are in with a great chance of gaining the six more victories Sparky feels we will need to make sixth place our own again this term. With Manchester United at Old Trafford the toughest match in theory that we will face if we keep the run going who knows what might happen, sixth could maybe even become fifth?
