Rovers have made an offer to sign striker Chris Brown from Doncaster, with the new joint-chairman John Ryan admitting he expects Brown to sign for Blackburn in the near future.

Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: ‘We have unfortunately lost (Mark) Duffy and Chris Brown as they had to take a 50% wage cut.

‘Chris Brown has been offered 10 grand a week by Blackburn, you can’t compete with that.’

Manager Gary Bowyer has admitted that he has been looking to replenish the striker ranks, with the club needing competition for Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes for next season.
