Vital Blackburn’s most recent poll asked, “Rovers Man of the Match v Bolton Wanderers?” We voted Christopher Samba.

It’s been a while but Samba picked up a Man of the Match Award against Bolton. His 24% saw him reclaim an award that seemed to be his a while.

Other than Jason Roberts (22%), who came on to score the winner the rest were much the same as each other, although Andre Ooijer (16%) and Ryan Nelsen (10%) did stand out from the rest.

So in summary
B Friedel – 3%
A Ooijer – 16%
C Samba – 24%
R Nelsen – 10%
S Warnock – 5%
D Bentley – 4%
D Dunn – 1%
S Reid – 3%
M G Pedersen – 1%
R Santa Cruz – 7%
B McCarthy – 1%
Khizanishvili (Sub 73mins) – 1%
Roberts (Sub 77mins) – 22%
Derbyshire (Sub 90mins) – 2%

The current poll, suggested by IsraeliRover is asking “Gallagher’s future lies in?

  • kk is kevin keegan sas…. and I am amazed that bents only got 4%????!!! something is not right!!! lol… best player on the pitch that was on for the full 90.

  • disagree mikey i thought bentley tried to force it way too much when there were simpler options around him and he lost the ball away too much. personally i thought nelsen was MoM and then his block on nolan or davies shot right at the end after roberts scored capped a good performance

  • I hope we don’t sell Roberts to Noblot, he was great on Sunday when he came on and did more in 10 minutes than Benni did all game. I know HDM rates Roberts as highly as me and we have discussed this in the past – I really think he deserves a run in the team with Roque.

  • fair enough durks but Bents drove us forward when we needed it and showed his England class with some telling pieces of skill. And Wellsy couldnt agree more I am a massive JRob fan too and he deserves a run now.

  • oo thanks mikey, pretty simple aye lol, as for bents, he did play well, just not to that higher limits he had shown in the previous weeks

  • Mikey you’re spot on – Bentley was excellent against Bolton. So were the back four, great defensive display… learnt from their Coventry mistakes!

  • We shoul dtry and keephold of Roberts. As Sparky has said, he is the perfect person to bring on when the opposing back four are tired in the last 10-20 minutes. It is not the role he wants, however, but he does play the role very very well, be it either scoring goals (Bolton) and setting up goals (other games…).

  • I think Bent’s lost the plot for a while in the second half, think he might have been trying a bit too hard to impress the england scout

  • I think its a shame that Fabio didnt come himself, Sunday afternoon, no conflicting game… come on Fabio, put the effort in.
