Rovers Meet The Champions

Paul Ince goes head to head with his former boss tomorrow. The champions are up and running and as usual, Rovers will have to be at their best to get anything out of the game.

Ince’s Rovers have certainly picked up and improved over the last 3 games with the defence much tighter and the attackers finding their feet.

Wins over Fulham, Everton (impressively) and Newcastle are one thing but to beat the champions would be the next step. Rovers are only one win away from hitting the top 4 if other results go their way.

Furthermore a win would further cast aside doubts about Paul’s ability to manage Rovers which surfaced after the Arsenal and West Ham games.

Rovers lie in 7th in the table, actually ahead of Man United in 11th, even though the current EPL kings have played one less game.

Should be a cracking game whichever way it goes. Come on the blue and white army.

Blackburn Team News:

Blackburn have no new injury worries. Vince Grella, Benni Mac and Paul Robinson are likely to miss out. Even though they are all back in training the game will probably come to soon for them.

Danny Simpson however, will not play as per the terms of his loan agreement.

Expect Ince to play Andre Ooijer instead. Villanueva and Tugay are likely to continue in midfield.

The only real questions are where Stephen Warnock will play and who will play alongside Santa up front, the answer to the latter being more than likely Matt Derbyshire.

Player to watch: Carlos Villanueva

Another strong game tomorrow and it will get a new world of appreciation for the slick Chilean.

So far has looked like a match winner and worth every penny of the £5 million we need to make his move permanent. (HINT).

Man United Team News:

Wayne Rooney is a major doubt whilst Paul Scholes is definitely not playing.

Michael Carrick is out and Owen Hargreaves continues to be plagued with a knee complaint.

Oh well that means they’ve only got Berbatov, Tevez, Ronaldo, Anderson, Park Ji Sung, Nani and Ryan Giggs left to pick from… poor them.

Player to watch: Dimitar Berbatov

The world’s most miserable player scored his first goals for United on Tuesday and will be keen to get off the mark in the Premier League tomorrow.

Just don’t expect any wild celebrations if he does nestle.

Match Facts & Stats

Ref Watch:

Alan Wiley – so thats a penalty for United and a dubious disallowed goal against Rovers. Thats for those keeping score.

Match Prediction:

I am going to be optimistic. I can’t see us claiming 3 points tomorrow but I think we can draw.

1-1, with the goals coming from Roque Santa Cruz and Carlos Tevez.
