NEW vital Blackburn member MikeyGamst’s mid season report on the Blackburn Rovers squad, continuing with our midfielders.

Hey all, first post on this new forum. So thought I’d introduce myself with a little run down of how I thought each member of team has been doing this year.

David Bentley – Is very gifted and has benefited from being played in a regular position this season. His end product has improved no end on last year as his faffing around actually has something attached on the end of it all. The future of the midfield as his technique and creativity is better then anyone else in the Rovers midfield with the exception …

Tugay – Why isn’t this guy 26???!!! What a shame as he is a sight to behold. He is worth the price of admission all on his own and hasn’t scored a tap-in in living memory. Great Player, impossible to replace.

Robbie Savage – If you’re not a Blackburn fan you hate him. But underneath all the drama lies a very influential player, the 3 games he has not been present for this year (West Ham, Villa, and Man U) we have sucked something royal. Is not Ronaldinho by a long shot, but calling him a bad player is showing a lack of football knowledge.

Morten Gamst Pedersen – Has not produced this year. He has a good left foot but too many corners do not beat the first man. He tackles like a tart as well. He gives us genuine width but the one thing that made him rule last year was his goal tally… he has struggled with them as well this year. Wishing there was an alternative????… look below…

Sergio Peter – Why this guy has not started more this year is beyond me? He can cross, he can beat his man, his touch is good, he is left footed and his passing is spot on. Yes he’s young but every time he has come on he has looked great.

Steven Reid – Two bad things have arisen from Reidy being injured…

1) We have lost a lot of drive from the midfield.
2) Tugay has not been rested enough due to the extra workload that the gaping hole in the centre has created.

As a result our midfield looks jaded sometimes.

Aaron Mokoena – He is a great defensive midfielder, he is an adequate right back, yes ladies and gentleman it’s the teams jack of all trades, master of none. His first touch is quite poor, but he gets stuck in and can pass. He’s no-ones preferred choice in any position but he’s a good bench player.

Let me know what you think and hello to all. Mikey
