Blackburn boss Paul Ince missed out on a major deadline day signing at the last minute.
In the L.E.T today it reveals that Ince and co. worked all day on a deal to bring in potentially Rovers’ 7th summer signing but were finally thwarted at around 10pm by a late snag.
On the flip side, Rovers received 3 bids from an undisclosed club for one of their players. At a guess I would say it was Stephen Warnock and the club was Newcastle but that is merely speculation.
Blackburn chairman John Williams, who described the summer as one of the busiest he`s had at the club since he became chairman, said to the Telegraph: “There was a possible deal that we were working on, but it didn`t materialise.
“There was also sustained interest from another club for one of our players.”
Rovers will now have to sit tight for the January window to bring in anyone else now – except of course those players out of contract.
Shame we couldn’t bring anyone in guys but as I have said before, I would rather wait for the right guy.
Come on Rovers.
