It was a day of mixed fortunes for several members of our squad whilst representing their nations.

Morten Gamst Pedersen played the full 90 minutes in Norway’s 2-0 away victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina, sealing the victory with a delightful cross for Bjorn Risse to score the second.

The Monk, Zurab Khizanishvilli, lead his Georgian outfit to a surprise 2-0 victory against the Scots. Zurab put in a solid defensive display, wearing the captains armband with pride.

Starting on the bench for the Dutch, Andre Ooijer came on in the final third to close up the game in their 2-0 victory against Slovakia.

In the last of the European Qualifiers, David Bentley could not even make the bench in England’s loss to Russia. Tony Kane also watched his country from the Stands with Northern Ireland playing out a 1-1 draw against Sweden.

Our South African duo, Benni McCarthy and the Axe, Captain Aaron Mokoena, could not lift the Bafana as they fell to the World Champions 2-0 in Italy.

With no injury concerns to report, looks like all our lads will report ready back ready for action
