The next SkyBet Championship match for Blackburn Rovers takes us to Ashton Gate as Blackburn take on Bristol City this afternoon.

Paul Lambert looks to extend his unbeaten run into three matches at the start of his spell with Rovers and this would be a match many would expect him to get us something from (at least a point), however, the Rovers record at Bristol City isn’t particularly good!!

A win last time (5-3) we played at Ashton Gate was secured but that’s the only won we’ve managed in the last fifteen matches as the away side against Bristol City so Steve Cotterill’s side shouldn’t hold too much fear really based on that!! On the other hand (including that mentioned win) Rovers have beaten The Robins (who’ve kept an impressive ten clean sheets from the last fourteen against us at Ashton Gate) in the last three League meetings now.

We’ll have to beat our former goalkeeper (I wouldn’t have let him go!!) Frankie Fielding this afternoon and you’ll imagine he’s going to be up for this match!!

Bristol City will have Nathan Baker available even though he went off in the last match but Marlon Pack is suspended. The Robins will have top goalscorer Jonathan Kodjia available as well though.

Doneil Henry’s chance could come as Rover skipper Grant Hanley seems as though his knee injury against Sheffield Wednesday (in the closing minutes) isn’t going to see him recover in time to keep his place?? Meaning the man on loan from West Ham United could make his first start since his return.

Another loanee (from Leicester City) Tom Lawrence is said to be fit and ready to return.

We’ll (probably) look at this as a match we’ll be able to win, however, Bristol City will (as the home side) definitely be thinking the same thing and would also know matches at Ashton Gate could be the difference between them staying up and being instantly relegated back into the SkyBet League One.

If Rovers are serious about a play off push under Lambert these are the matches we’ve got to win and I’ve got this feeling we’ll manage this and will say it’ll be a 2-1 or 3-2 win!!
