Rovers have made a brief foray into the world of football gossip this morning with speculation arising in recent days that Steve Kean and his staff are watching Spanish midfield whizz kid Jose Recio – currently plying his trade for Malaga.

The papers believe that Recio will consider swapping living in the gateway to the Costa Del Sol for a more cloudy existence in East Lancashire, but only if Blackburn send £7 million in the opposite direction.

Quite where the monetary warning has come from is beyond truly but never the less here’s a little exert to back up the rumour.

The Daily Mail has reported – ‘Blackburn have been warned that Malaga midfielder Jose Recio will cost them £7million if they follow up recent scouting reports.

The Spain Under 20 international is under contract until 2015.’

Premiership safety first before the rumour mill hey?

  • yea i think this lad was blackpool not blackburn s he s der for replacing adams and trust me we dont have to worry over paper talk anymore we have the best tool of a manager over us to make sure we go straight down dont wait around for 40million who needs it all we want to do now is play fastasy football we dont want to win games or even score in them once we have one good half of the game the manager is happy

  • Why are we being linked with anybody? Must be a slow news day. No player will be interested in coming to a team seriously threatened with relegation and with such an appalling record over the last three months. If they are serious about a playmaker Krancjar would be a better option and he would be cheaper, but again why would he want to join us.

  • Never heard of him TBH, one thing at a time though we need a win against Bolton before we can even think about wearing Prem Badges next season. I concur with the Krancjar idea as well he’s wasted at Spurs and a loan deal in January would have been well worth it.

  • Definitely falls into the “daft” category. How many Championship sides spend £7m on promising young Spaniards? Three points on Saturday, and three more from the last few matches, and then we can start looking at the likes of this lad.
