Rovers are on the verge of making their first summer signing as it has come to light that the club are close to securing the signature of striker Hugo Mariano Pavone.

Pavone has bought out his contract at Real Betis and has made it clear to his ‘people’ that he views the Premier League as his next conquest and Rovers have stepped in.

The Argentine was on loan at THAT River Plate side last season and bagged 9 goals in 32 starts.

The Lancashire Telegraph are Reporting -‘The 29-year-old ex Real Betis striker has held negotiations about a potential move to Ewood Park as Rovers edge closer to making their first summer signing.

Pavone spent last season on loan at Argentinian outfit River Plate from his Spanish parent club, scoring nine goals in 32 appearances, but Rovers are now hopeful of snapping him up as a free agent after the player bought himself out of his contract in Spain.’

In other potential signing news, Rovers have definitely agreed a move with Monaco for Cedric Mongongu to the tune of £2.5 million.

It is now up to the player to come to terms with Rovers.
