Rovers Representation

In an untimely rant that totally contradicts the smart work of our esteemed editor, Hughes Da Man, I have a certain gripe about the current representation of Rovers on one particular medium.

Now I whole-heartedly agree with the sentiments of Hughes Da Man, that representation of Rovers is slowly improving however, I cannot help but feel appalled by the complete lack of disrespect shown towards Rovers by the powers that be on Match Of The Day.

Some of you may have noticed a few comments made by myself and HDM about the fact that, following intense scrutiny, Rovers do not appear to be represented on the opening titles of the illustrious show.

Now why is this? Club emblems, star players, familiar faces are all present symbolising the host of Premier League in this years competition but there appears to have been an oversight when they considered last season`s FA Cup semi finalists and top ten team, Blackburn Rovers.

We have never been a fashionable club, even when we were lifting the Premiership crown, but this surely is a little too much to take.

For years we have vented our angst about the paltry clips afforded to Rovers, normally shunned to the end of the programme, but for titles of the famous show to fail to at the very least acknowledge Blackburn is poor.

Now, in order to prevent the wise cracks from some ‘witty` fans, the referee issuing a red card is not representation of Rovers.

I challenge all Rovers fans out there to carefully analyse the opening titles to see if Rovers are indeed shown, but I am yet to see them!

Let the campaign for Rovers` equal representation begin!
