Rovers Reserves in Action

The Lancashire Seniors Cup was the focus for our reserves last night. After winning this competition last year, our boys planned to get of to a good start against the Morecambe squad.

And get of to a good start they sure did. Within the first ten minutes, our left-winger, Keith Treacy, slotting home a 20-yard screamer. This goal was nullified within moments as Morecambe were level through a Paul Jarvis equaliser.

From this moment on though, it was one-way traffic. A second from Treacy and goals from De Vita (I’ll claim this lad before HDM does) and Rigters ensured a 4-1 lead at the interval. A De Vita second goal in the second half finished of the game on a wet, windy and cold Christie Park.

On a sour note, Rigters suffered a minor injury whilst challenging a tackle.

Rovers await their next victims in the second round of the Lancashire Seniors Cup.
