After their 5-1 routing of Morecambe in the Lancashire Seniors Cup, Blackburn Rovers Reserves were back in league action against the Sunderland Reserves.

Steven Reid, playing his first competitive match for almost 14 months, started the game, as did Bruno Berner. As against Morecambe, Rovers got away to a flier, with early goals to Sergio Peter as well as Keith Treacy.

Steven Reid was substituted after 55 minutes, no thank God, not through injury, rather match fitness. Henchoz scored a rare goal, with Jamie Clarke and Bruno Berner wrapping up a delightful 5-0 victory.

A convincing win by our reserve squad. Great to see Steven Reid back in action, consistent throughout the night. Goals for Henchoz and Berner also show that we do have depth when required, even our defenders can score
