Rovers are set to sell left sided player Martin Olsson to Norwich City, after agreeing a price for the transfer yesterday.

Olsson has been angling for a move away from Ewood Park since the club’s relegation and although happy to stay last season, clearly wasn’t playing to his previously lofty standards.

And with Rovers needing the transfer cash to pursue other targets, the club has agreed to let Olsson go to his desired destination of the Premier League.

Various media outlets have reported the deal but the Lancashire Telegraph has stated – ‘Rovers and Norwich have agreed an undisclosed fee for the Swede, believed to be in the region of £2.5m, and the 25-year-old could complete his move today.’

This deal is reported to present on the knock-on effect of Rovers being able to push ahead with their desired move for Liverpool’s Jay Spearing, who has been subject to an agreed bid of around £1.75m for his services.
