A succession of poor results has seen Blackburn Rovers drop from the pinnacle of the Championship to battling it out for a play-off position. Whilst it is only early days, every point dropped is a point lost in the race to achieving promotion to the lucrative English Premier League.

The second fixture of the Post Steve Kean era came less than a week after his resignation. Blackburn Rovers travelled to Nottingham Forest, with a strong away backing ‘celebrating’ the resignation of Mr Steve Kean. After a roller coaster 18 months, Blackburn fans could return to enjoying supporting their team, well attempting to anyways.

A fixture lacking any cutting edge, with both teams failing to dominate possession, nor create any clear cut opportunities. Nottingham did hold the upper hand in the fixture, though couldn’t convert any half chances which came their way. Paul Robinson was on hand late on in the match, a double save preventing an away loss and returning Rovers back into the play off position.

The first home game of the Post Kean Era saw Rovers fans return in their droves. 5000 extra fans from the average so far this season made their way into Ewood Park as Blackburn took on Wolverhampton Wolves, themselves attempting to bounce back on the first attempt.

However, once again for the Rovers fans, their was little joy as Wolverhampton dominated on all accounts. First to the ball, strongest into challenges and a sense of determination ensured Wolverhampton would leave Ewood with all 3 points.

Whilst Rovers failed to create much in attack, Wolves, who had scuffed several opportunities throughout the encounter, took their chance with 10 minutes left on the clock, Sako firing in after a partially cleared corner rolled his way, making space before lashing it into the far corner of the net, 1-0 Wolves.

Blackburn now linger in 8th spot, 5 points behind league leaders Cardiff and a solitary point outside the play off positions
