A teenage soccer starlet has been signed by Blackburn Rovers at the young age of just 14.

Jordan Preston is the name of the young man and Sam Allardyce has snapped him up and beat off some fierce competition in the process to land the hotly tipped youngster.

Jordan was on the books of Sheffield United but they have received a fee for his talents and signed a four year youth deal, presumably to add the talents of ‘strength’ and ‘bully the keeper’ to his young skill book.

He started out playing his trade for a small local side called Hepworth which is near Kirklees in West Yorkshire.

And who would be best to comment on the young man with high hopes? Why the man’s father of course.

His Dad spoke to the Huddersfield Examiner and said – “Jordan began playing with Hepworth Under 5s and went through to the Under 9s when he was picked up by Barnsley.

“He was with them for a while but then moved to Sheffield United and played for their Academy sides.

“Now Blackburn have come in for him and he has signed a four-year contract which will hopefully take him through to a professional contract.”

“Although he has joined Blackburn, he will still be a Huddersfield Town fan.

“I have watched Town all my life too and I`ll never change – although I will be interested in what Blackburn do.’

Blimey if my Dad told me who to support I would be a Newcastle United fan and I would have never forgave him!

Welcome aboard Jordan!
