Rovers are searching hard after yesterday’s big blow in the form of Leon Best’s injury lay off.

An extra striker is now required with Best out for at least six months and the club have started the process of trying to add to the club striking resources with Nuno Gomes, Edinho and David Goodwillie the only recognised strikers fit and ready at the club.

We all learned last night that the Simon Cox transfer which has been lined up has been blocked by the powers that be at the club even though Cox himself was expecting the deal to go through. Rovers could go back to this if need be but right now the club believe there is high quality fish available from the pond.

Further news comes in the form of an approach for Jordan Rhodes which could have been made as early as last week.

A enquiry is believed to have been lodged with a bid of around £5m for the red hot Huddersfield hit man but the news that came back was that he wasn’t for sale at any price. Huddersfield are likely to be loathe to lose their man to a team from the same division as well.

The search continues…
