Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen was the double whammy in a VERY disappointing Thursday Evening, as he sustained a hamstring injury as Rovers suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Larissa.

If defeat was bad enough for Rovers the fact that Nelsen had to be substituted shortly after half time made matters even worse, and he is now scheduled to be out for three or four weeks.

Rovers manager Mark Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: “It is the hamstring that he had the operation on but we think it is just a bit of scar tissue that has released itself.

“So long term he will be better for that, we hope it is not serious, but he is certainly going to be out in the short term, about three to four weeks
.”

What a BITTER blow this is for Rovers, even worse than the result itself! The importance of Christopher Samba returning on Sunday is even more crucial now.
