Blackburn Rovers are lining up a bid for Aston Villa striker John Carew, the Daily Mirror is speculating.

Rovers actually play Villa this afternoon but it seems that the out of favour Norwegian is being considered to add goals to the shot shy Rovers front line.

It seems Carew is out of favour with Gerard Houllier at Villa Park after being a main stay in the Martin O’Neill Villa side.

The figure being quoted is around £3 million and it seems to add up on all sides.

  • Most Villa fans will drive him to Blackburn themselves, he was good, now he is just lazy with a bad attitude. I can’t see him joining Blackburn though, he will move to Turkey or Italy or to a London club considering he lives there already for some reason.

  • Would be a good addition, especially if Sam carries on with the lump it forward routine lol. He’s a bit injury prone, though not quite in the same league as Grella mind.

  • 3 years ago he would of been a good signing but everytime I see him play now adays he just hasnt got the legs and needs far too much time to either trap a ball or pass a ball, Rovers hopefully will look elsewhere

  • i think as a loan option for the rest of the season he would be a good signing, i think as permanent fixture would be stupid. his attitude has proven he will be a problem this time next year once we have strengthened the squad.
