Blackburn Rovers are being attributed with an interest in Fulham’s Steven Davis, but Glasgow Rangers appear to be the only club for him.

Davis joined Rangers on loan in January and saw out the remainder of last season with the Scottish giants, in the process fulfilling a lifelong ambition of playing for the club. This loan spell saw him pick up Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup Winners medals as well as UEFA Cup and Scottish Premier League runners-up medals and the Northern Ireland International has again repeated his desire to return to them on a permanent basis next season despite a reported interest from Rovers, as well as Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.

Davis told the Daily Record: “I’ve loved every minute of my time at Rangers and winning the Scottish Cup helped heal the pain of losing the title and the UEFA Cup Final.

“The fans took to me straight away and I want to thank them for that because it really helped me to settle in quickly and made sure I enjoyed my football from day one.

“Just going there was a dream but to win two cups and get into a Euro final was incredible.

“I’ve a lot of mementos with me like shirts and, of course, my medals but I really hope I haven’t worn the Rangers shirt for a final time.

“It was a lifelong dream to play for the club and what fan wouldn’t want to play there?

I don’t really see Davis as the type of player that we would be looking for anyway really?!?!
