With Education Secretary Alan Johnson this week urging teachers to start taking children out on school trips, Blackburn Rovers latest ticket offer is ideal for schools wanting a day out in a safe environment.

This latest press release (below) is the most recent of Rovers’ many initiatives committed to increasing Premiership attendance figures detailing the clubs plans for further ticketing reductions, and has recently been sent to me by the club.

The Perfect Day Out For Football Mad Youngsters!

SCHOOLS are being targeted in the latest ticketing initiative from Blackburn Rovers with youngsters being offered the chance to watch live action at Ewood Park for just £3 per child!

Rovers want a whole new generation of football fans through the turnstiles and are offering parties of 10 children or more the opportunity to see a game for just £3 per child with free entry for two accompanying adults.

The move comes as the government outlined plans to encourage more schools to take children out off the classroom and on school trips.

Officials at Rovers say a day out at Ewood Park offers a fun filled school trip for youngsters and the chance to sample top quality football match in a safe environment.

The club have sent out hundreds of letters to schools in Blackburn inviting them to come along and enjoy the perfect day out for sports mad youngsters.

Head of Marketing and Sales, Simon Williams comments:

If the game is to thrive in the future then we need a new generation of fans coming through the turnstiles to watch matches.

This is a fantastic offer and we want many children to come to Ewood and see at first hand the passion and excitement a Premiership match generates.

There has been a lot of debate recently about the viability of school trips and we believe a visit to Ewood Park offers the perfect school day out in a safe environment.”

The marketing team at Rovers is spearheading efforts to tackle head on the issues of affordability and attendances at Premiership grounds. Other initiatives include a loyalty scheme and reduced prices on selected games.
