Rovers To Miss Out On Striker

Blackburn Rovers appear to have missed out on a player that was understood to be a summer transfer target after a move was apparently agreed with Borussia Dortmund.

Sam Allardyce was understood to be interested in Robert Lewandowski, however, the striker has verbally agreed a deal with Dortmund manager Michael Zorc according to German newspaper reports. The 21-year-old will cost a reported £4million, which is less than the original amount that was being mentioned (the original asking price reported for Lewandowski had made it even less likely a deal would be agreed.)

The Polish International had been keeping his options open by saying all of the teams (understood) to be interested in him appealed to him in various ways. Allardyce will identify other transfer targets and I’m certain they’ll be the right players for Rovers, at the right prices.
