Next port of call off the field for the Rovers and Sam Allardyce is to discuss what to do next over four out of contract in the summer players.

Rovers are still waiting for a decision on his new deal from Junior Hoilett but some talks are yet to start.

Negotiations have yet to start with David Dunn, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Steven Reid and Frank Fielding, something the Rovers boss and board want to start on.

Rovers problem lies in the fact that if news deals are not offered by January then all the players with six months left on their deals can start to negotiate with other clubs and Rovers risk losing them for free.

Personally we should get David Dunn tied down with haste as he has earnt a new deal in my eyes, the only delay I can see is the medical staff just making sure he can stay fit for a long period.

Steven Reid will probably have to wait till after January for a new Rovers offer as he needs to prove he can make a sustained comeback (initially at QPR).

Pedersen looks hit and miss and I would be suprised if Frank isn’t a bit miffed at still being fourth choice keeper at Ewood.

Tough decisions to be made for sure.
