Rovers to up their Keane bid

Rovers are still in the hunt for Spurs striker Robbie Keane, despite having their opening £2 million bid rejected by Harry Redknapp and his Spurs team.

Spurs are apparently wanting close to £5-6 million which is a bit preposterous as the Republic of Ireland man has just come back from a dreadful loan spell at West Ham and is surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.

A compromise however should be sorted for a deal which should be mutually beneficial for all parties.

The Daily Mail is reporting – ‘Robbie Keane’s move to Blackburn could be back on as Rovers boss Steve Kean considers upping his bid for the Tottenham striker.

Spurs have rejected a £2million bid for the Republic of Ireland international, hoping Kean will move his valuation closer to the £6m deal originally agreed with West Ham.

Keane’s move to Upton Park collapsed when the club were relegated and he knows he is surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane and will face another season on the bench unless he can find a new team.’

Rovers want Keane as their extra striker to go alongside the new, big money signing expected to arrive in the next few weeks.

Expect this one to gather pace.
