Blackburn Rovers are reportedly one of several clubs throughout Europe chasing Fiorentina’s Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi.

The Czech Republic International has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League (allegedly turning down Liverpool?) but nothing has come off, however, his agent Dalibor Lacina has confirmed that there is a lot of interest in the player and he will leave the Italian side, but not before the contract expires in June, so he will be available to negotiate a free transfer move in January, signing for whomever he selects in the Summer.

Lacina told Sky Sports: “At this moment we are registering approximately eight specific offers from top clubs. The reality is though that Tomas Ujfalusi will fulfil his contract at Fiorentina.

“The offers of course are there but we will start discussions when Ujfalusi’s contract expires. And it is not a certain if Tomas will leave Fiorentina at all
.”

The reports are that as well as Rovers, Tottenham Hotspur, Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich are all interested, and have made offers for the 29-year-old.

  • I’ve only ever heard good things about the guy (and he has looked good when I’ve seen him), but his age is a bit of a concern for me, but if he came on a free transfer (with the obvious quality he has) it wouldn’t be bad would it.

  • Free transfer would have bargain written all over it. Although if I was the Fiorentina manager wouldnt it make sense to auction him in Januray to the highest bidder??? as opposed to letting him leave for nothing in the summer??? just a thought.

  • I don’t know if would be able to attract him but on a free why not, might as well give him a try!!! United this weekend not sure what to expect at all!!!

  • You’d kind of guess it from the list of clubs supposedly interested but this boy is a quality centre half. Who’s he replacing though? Presumably he’d want to start…

  • theirishrover – Spot on dude, I can’t see him coming here to wamr the bench, but who would be left out?!?! Neither God or the Wall could be left out could they, and he wouldn’t be one for the future either would he as he’s almost 30!
