Rovers wait on Cairney news

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has confirmed that midfielder Tom Cairney will have a scan on his ankle today, after being forced to withdraw from Rovers 1-0 win at Reading on Saturday.

The injury, picked up in the second half of the game, had initially not seemed a major problem with the player able to continue after receiving treatment – but a few minutes of discomfort later and the player was withdrawn to be replaced by Chris Taylor.

Rovers will hopefully of positive news with the club set to enter a crucial period of two local derbies over the course of the next fortnight and with Cairney being the club’s best player this campaign.
