Sheffield Wednesday Manager Brian Laws’ calls for Blackburn Rovers striker Francis Jeffers to make the step down to the Championship could pay off, as the two clubs HAVE agreed a fee for the player.

Wednesday are possibly the biggest club outside of the Premiership, and a good tip for a promotion challenge this season, which MIGHT be aided by Jeffers after the Owls and Rovers, agreed a fee for the 25-year-old (reported as £700,000) who has been given permission to speak to the Championship side by Rovers Chairman John Williams.

Jeffers has already priced himself out of a move to Ipswich Town (after a fee had also been agreed with them earlier in the summer) now all that remains to be seen is whether or not hill will do this again and see a move to Hillsborough collapse also?!?! However, it is STRONGLY believed that this deal WILL go through, and could be agreed by the end of the week.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph:

Francis has formally got permission to speak to Sheffield Wednesday and we understand discussions are taking place.”
