Sam Loves The Croque Money

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is loving the bit of business he did when he sold Roque Santa Cruz to Man City for up to £18 million

He feels it represents a good deal for all parties and now the summer of tweaking the squad to be ready for a better season can begin.

Three signings have already come into Ewood Park, the solid Lars Jacobsen joined yesterday to add to the speedy Elrio Van Heerden and the really rather excellent Gael Givet.

But there is more to come and this has been made possible by digging their heels in over the Roque move and getting as much money as possible for him.

Sam spoke to the Sun and said – ‘I thought it was really good business, the player has got what he wanted and we’ve got good value for that player.

‘You take the money and use it on someone who does want to play for Blackburn.’

Never have truer words been spoken. From a personal stand point I only want players at Rovers that want to play for the club. Santa didnt want that but there are players here now that definitely do and we will be MUCH better off for this.

In even more good news. Rovers medical staff have confirmed that David Dunn, Steven Reid and Brett Emerton are all ready for pre-season.

This seems to add to the notion that no more midfielders will be heading into Ewood this season.
