Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba has struggled for form this season, and by his own admission this has been the worse season of his career.

Last season when Samba arrived injury to others gave him the chance to come in and he shone, with his £350,000 BARGAIN fee rising ten times (minimum) by the time the season was out and he as linked to some top European clubs. However, this season he has struggled to recapture this form regularly, but he is looking to get back to his best and feels that he will.

Samba told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It’s my first really poor season. I have to work on my consistency a little bit more during the season.

“It’s not easy to keep up your performance in every game, but I am working on it and I can only get better
.”

The Wall also feels that despite the fact that Rovers are now nine points adrift of Everton in fifth and Liverpool and Manchester United will be our next opponents European football is still attainable, so long as each of the remaining five matches are treated as Cup Finals.

He added: “Of course we can make it to Europe.

“We’ve got five league games left and, for me, they are like five consecutive cup finals.

“We need a good finish to the season. We will give it everything we can and do our best, and we’ll see at the end if it is good enough.

“But I think we have to improve in some areas. Our last pass has not always been exact and we need to work on that to create more chances
.”
