Christopher Samba is reportedly poised to complete his move to Blackburn Rovers.

The DR Congo Internationals current club Hertha Berlin have said they are merely awaiting final conformation of the deal after the defender agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with Rovers following a four-day trial when he impressed Mark Hughes.

We are waiting for the fax to arrive at any minute. It would be great for him if it works out,” said Hertha coach Falko Gotz.

Such a move would see him become Rovers third capture during the transfer window following the re-arrival of David Dunn and capture of Stephen Warnock but would probably end the interest in Andrij Nesmachny. The Ukrainian Internationals club Dynamo Kiev had already said they were getting impatient waiting for Rovers to decide whether to pursue an interest or not with Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis saying:

We sent Blackburn an enquiry about their decision last Saturday but there has been no response still.

We will wait for Blackburn’s answer until Tuesday. If they don’t reply in this period then Nesmachny will stay at Dynamo.”
