Samba stripped of the armband

Steve Kean has taken the club captaincy off of want away centre back Chris Samba.

Samba vented his annoyance at Sam Allardyce’s removal from the Ewood Park hot seat a last week and with Kean hoping to spread positive vibes he felt it was best to take the honour off of someone who has expressed his desire to leave.

The captain’s job is now back with former bearer Ryan Nelsen and Kean is hoping the move coupled with the news of money to spend on ‘quality signings’ will encourage the man known as Kong to stay at the club.

Will it work though or has the damage been done?
