Blackburn Rovers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Dominic Samuel in the two one victory over Bristol Rovers at the weekend at Ewood Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Samuel was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Another substitute who made a significant impact in League One was Samuel, with the Blackburn striker earning his side a penalty, before scoring the winner against AFC Wimbledon. He had not been long on the field when he was brought down by Tom Lockyer. Charlie Mulgrew subsequently converted from the spot, leaving the 23-year-old to then head the winner shortly after.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Samuel for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
