Shebby promises action

|

Shebby Singh has confirmed that some tough decisions have to be made at Ewood Park in light of an alarming slump that has seen Rovers lose touch with the promotion chasing pack.

It is thought that a complete revamp of the coaching staff that operate under manager Henning Berg is a distinct possibility with the likes of assistant manager Eric Black facing the sack.

A meeting was held on Monday between managing director Derek Shaw, Global Advisor Shebby Singh, operation director Paul Agnew and manager Henning Berg with a plan of action agreed on how best to get Rovers back on course.

This involved talking player recruitment and player sales in the lead up to the transfer window reopening in January.

But first on the agenda is the matter of the coaching team with a total change in personnel likely, including defensive coach Colin Hendry, who is being lined up for a demotion to the Reserves.

Elsewhere, Eric Black, Iain Brunskill and Bobby Mimms who are all on the first team coaching staff are thought to be considered for the chop.

Shebby told the Lancashire Telegraph – “After a 4-1 home defeat and a performance and a result like that it is inevitable there was going to be a post mortem, after 21 games as well.

“We discussed and deliberated things, myself, Henning, Derek Shaw and Paul Agnew and they were serious and intense discussions where every subject was talked about.

“Everything from under performing players, to unhappy players to backroom, management and coaching staff. Things had to be debated and everything is now very clear, now we know the direction we are heading in and what decisions have to be taken.

“Decisive decisions and actions were needed and they will be taken, I just ask fans to respect our wishes for a bit of time to bring them into fruition.

“I can`t and won`t talk about specifics. After 21 games, it is natural this was the time for a post-mortem and that means every individual has to be assessed. We assessed everything and made some decisions.

“The pressure is on. We did not expect this to be easy and it hasn`t been but the decisions have been made that need to be made.”
