When Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley is fit he’s not only in our starting XI but he’s of course also our skipper, should both remain the case??

Hanley’s been superb for us over the years, however, his form this season (when he’s not been injured) has been a bit suspect to say the least!! Many feel that we look better defensively without him in the side and interestingly I’m led to understand that when Hanley hasn’t been in the side this season we’ve not lost a match!!

He missed the FA Cup Quarter-Final against Liverpool at Anfield then sat out the win against Bolton Wanderers (as he had the win against Sheffield Wednesday before that) with it mentioned somewhere that I read that he’s missed seven matches this season and from those seven that he’s missed we’ve gone onto win five and drawn the other two, failing to lose any that he’s not played in!!

I’m not saying that we should get rid of Hanley (in my honest opinion I still feel he has plenty to offer us), however, I’ve been thinking more that perhaps we need Bowyer to rethink his position as skipper??

If you’re skipper then you’re the first name on the teamsheet and I’m sure that many people are questioning if he should be?? Matt Kilgallon has filled in as skipper a few times recently and the thirty-one-year-olds form since the turn of the year has been superb so would he be a more suitable skipper at the moment as he’s one that you feel should be one of the first names on the Rovers defensive teamsheet so why not the skipper too??
