Blackburn Rovers’ on loan defender Danny Simpson is hoping to prove to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson that he can be a hit in the Premier League.

Simpson’s long-term future with Man United is unclear, but he is looking to make the most of his season-long loan with Rovers to keep himself in Ferguson’s plans, and he has already said that Simpson will return to Old Trafford at the end of his loan. In order to remain in his thoughts Simpson needed this loan to have any chance and he wants to take this opportunity.

Simpson told Sky Sports News: “You need experience.

“You need Sir Alex Ferguson to trust you that you can cut it in the Prem.

“For me, at the moment, I want to get as many games as I can.

“Obviously I will go back next season and then have a meeting and see what he says.

Simpson isn’t that likely to make the breakthrough with Manure though is he as they have several right-backs ahead of him, so if the rest of the season goes well I’m sure that Paul Ince will be looking to keep him.

Meanwhile Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili has admitted that he is considering leaving the club.

The Georgian International hasn’t featured for the club since March, so the 27-year-old has admitted that his future could like away from Ewood.

Khizanishvili is quoted as saying: “Everybody has to look around and find some good way to play football.

“It is good to play at Blackburn Rovers and in the Premier League.

“They gave me the chance to play every week, that was perfect, but I have to be looking to play every game now because I am nothing like 32, 33, and I need to play regularly.

“It is a little bit of a hard time for me at the moment. I played a lot when I came and that was fantastic, but this season I have not played in nine games so obviously I am not happy.

“I have two-and-a-half years left on my contract. I love it here but business is business. So maybe one day in and one day out.

“Football is football. Maybe you play one season at a club and the next season you play a second club.

“I might stay here a lot longer though. It is not my choice, so I will have to wait to see what they say.

I feel sorry for Zurab as he is a good defender who rarely lets us down we called upon, yet is the first to drop out again regardless so I can understand his frustration at his lack of first-team football.
