Florent Sinama Pongolle joined Rovers on transfer deadline day after a lack of first team football at Anfield and despite a disappointing Rovers debut in the team’s 2-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion the former Le Harve youngster still believes Rovers are on course for Europe.
‘I don’t see why we can’t finish in a European place at the end of it.’ He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
Pongolle is still hoping to impress enough to get a first team place back at Anfield but he admits that can only be good news for him and Blackburn.
‘It has been a little bit frustrating. That’s why Benitez let me come here and I just want to show what I can do, and what I can do for the team.?
‘If I can do my best for Blackburn Rovers, and help the team finish near the top of the table, then that can only be good for me and good for them.
