As several Blackburn Rovers footballers jet off around the globe for their various International Qualifying matches spare a thought for those left behind playing in the reserves tonight.

With Lucas Neill and Brett Emerton off to represent Australia in their Asian Cup qualifiers with Paraguay and Bahrain, Aaron Mokoena off to South African for their African Cup of Nations tie with Zambia and Andre Ooijer, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Zurab Khizanishvili, Peter Enckelman and Jason Brown all off for their countries Euro 2008 Qualifiers don’t forget the reserves are in action tonight at Ewood Park.

With some younger members of the reserves also away with their respective countries at various levels, with Andy Todd back from injury he, along with other first team members Jay McEveley, Dominic Matteo, Michael Gray, Sergio Peter and Matt Derbyshire are likely to play some part, if not the whole 90 minutes in the reserve fixture with Middlesbrough tonight.

The encounter with Boro, who will themselves be bringing first team players like Julio Arca, former transfer target Robert Huth, Ray Parlour, Stuart Parnaby and Massimo Maccarone, is likely to be well worth a watch if you can make it?

Kick-off at Ewood Park is at 7.00pm, with season ticket holders gaining free entry, with adults paying just £3 and children £1 it could be worth braving the elements to see many of the Rovers players, so many of you are hoping to be given a chance in the first team (the youngsters in particular) to see just how worthy they are.
