Tommy Spurr’s efforts to make a return to the Blackburn Rovers first-team continued on Monday evening with his latest involvement for the Under-21 side when he featured against Aston Villa.

A place in the Quarter-Finals of the Under-21 Premier League Cup was up for grabs (which is something that all involved would’ve wanted) but for Spurr the most important thing was that Spurr had some more minutes on the pitch, with him playing over an hour of the match a week prior too.

On this occasion Spur featured for the full ninety-minutes as he helped us to a 3-2 win over Aston Villa, secured by a late Bradley Bauress winner.

Loans for quite a few Rovers players have ended recently so this also saw returns for some of those players, such was David Raya, Anthony O’Connor, Jack O’Connell, John O’Sullivan and Jordan Slew.
