Big Sam has again been linked with the England job after it was announced that Fabio Capello was stepping down (as expected) after Euro 2012.

Big Sam has joined the usual crew of Roy Hodgson, Steve Bruce and the even larger microphone snogger Harry Redknapp in being linked with the position.

Our boss himself seems quite keen as he announced a few weeks ago that he would be looking at international management in a few years time and he is of course… er… English.

Big Sam spoke to the Sun and said – “I remember speaking to Bobby Robson and Terry Venables. They said it’s the greatest job you could ever have, so you want to do it,”

‘And if you feel like you can do it, you put yourself up for it. I’ve done that before but came a close second.

‘International management does appeal, yes. I’m 55 and a different style of management appeals.”

The usual still applies with the Allardyce for England talk – he is good enough on a man management level for the job, no doubt. But whether the Sky Four generation will accept him there or not is a different matter entirely.
