A report in the Telegraph on Monday claimed that Blackburn could be ready to let Jordan Rhodes leave on loan this month ‘with the view’ to a permanent exit in the summer for £8m – with Derby and Norwich both ‘interested.’

Quite a drop from the £12m that Sheffield Wednesday were going to pay us in the summer (Click Here) hey!

We’ve also seen claims made that Nottingham Forest, who I thought were under a transfer embargo much like ourselves, were planning an £8m move too! You do wonder who makes this stuff up sometimes….

Gary Bowyer ‘has rubbished’ such talks and told the Official Website that he feels this has only surfaced because he didn’t make it off the bench at Anfield against Liverpool in our FA Cup ΒΌ final on Sunday.

‘I just don’t understand why we would want to consider loaning one of our players to rivals in the Championship.

‘I think it has come out of possibly the fact that he wasn’t involved in the starting XI on Sunday. But if you look at our game plan and how we went about, it we were never going to go to Anfield with two strikers.’

Bowyer doesn’t see the logic in letting any of our players going at this stage of the season, so it’ll not be happening and such reports are ‘beyond him’ with him confirming that not only will he start on Wednesday against Bolton he ‘looks forward to him scoring’ just as he did in our last Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Chances are, in all reality that Rhodes could do in the summer but it’s ridiculous to think that he could go before!
