Rovers are set to seal the signing of Young Boys right back Scott Sutter.

Sutter has been given permission to leave his current side to negotiate terms with Blackburn and seal a move back to England, where he is originally from.

There will be no fee involve but it is yet to be confirmed whether the transfer will be a loan or a freebie as Young Boys are claiming one thing and Sutter’s representatives are claiming the other.

One thing is for certain it is exactly the sort of transfers Rovers require at present in that it is very low cost.

Sutter himself is a right back who has been frozen out at his current club in Switzerland but impressed during last year’s Champions League games with Spurs and is a dedicated full back, something Rovers do lack on the right hand side of the pitch.

The transfer looks to be very straightforward and no hiccups are expected so he should be a Rovers player by the end of the week.

Fair play to the Rovers back room, they’ve done a good job keeping this quiet up to this stage.
