North Korea striker Jong Tae-Se is being monitored by Sam Allardyce and Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers stated they would not buy players based on the World Cup as it would mean over pricing but Tae-Se could prove to be an exception.

The Mirror is the main rag running the story and states that Jong ‘spent a week on trial at Rovers in February and Sam Allardyce is monitoring his progress at the tournament and with his Japanese club side Kawasaki Frontale.

Jong, 26, dreams of playing in the Premier League and claims he is North Korea’s No 1 Blackburn fan.’

The player himself is also handily on standby with some quotes, which you can read by simply scrolling down with your eyes.

Jong is quoted in The Mirror as saying – ‘I want to play in England, when I was at high school, Italy’s Serie A was the most popular league but with the help of cable television, I started watching English football and I really enjoyed the stadiums, the atmosphere and the passion.

‘Years ago, I used to train wearing a Blackburn Rovers shirt.

‘In Japan, there were not many people wearing Blackburn shirts. I just went to the shop and bought one because I liked it.’

A Korean in a Rovers shirt!? God I have heard everything now!!!
