Ah yes, never a nice one this.
We here at VB et VBer’s to vote for who they thought turned in the worst performance of the last campaign.
Unfortunately in a troubled campaign there was quite the stellar field to pick from.
The now infamous Herold Goulon got a mention for his ‘performance’ in the 7-1 drubbing at Manchester United.
And where would this award be without a mention for everyone’s favourite jogger Keith ‘Double Face Palm’ Andrews – his Lionel Messi impression in the 4-1 defeat at Aston Villa racking numerous votes up.
But the winner rather aptly came from our worst team performance of the season.
The winner of the 2010/11 Delap Award for the Worst Performance of the Season is… Pascal Chimbonda for his shocker at left back against Manchester United at Old Trafford..
I would say well done to Chimbo but sadly that would be a lie after his terrible all round showing and schooling at the hands of Luis Nani that day.
His display in that match even inspired this joke…
‘Have Sky +? Why not pause the game for a short while and then play the match 2 seconds behind everyone else for the full Pascal Chimbonda experience’.
