The Gray Days Are Over

Blackburn Rovers left-back Michael Gray has become the first player to be shown the door by Mark Hughes this summer.

With fans favourite Stephen Warnock and Swiss International Bruno Berner WELL ahead of him in the pecking order, Gray has been told his contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of June.

32-year-old former England International Gray earned himself a yearlong extension last summer after helping us to a sixth place finish at the end of the 2005-2006 season but struggled for first team football during the 2006-2007 season and hadn’t featured for Rovers since December 2006, and actually finished the campaign on loan with Championship side Leeds United.

I think it is fair to say that Gray’s best days are well and truly behind him but I would still like to wish him well for the future and thank him for his contribution to the side over the years.
