Blackburn Rovers legend Matt Jansen has resurfaced after appearing to disappear of the face of the planet!!! He is set to train with his former club Carlisle United in order to regain his fitness.

Someone recently asked me if I knew where Jansen was? All that I could tell them was that I knew that he was with Bolton Wanderers a couple of years back, they then released him last summer and he was meant to be off to America. That fell through and he looked like he might sign for Carlisle but ended up going back to Bolton at the end of last summer to train with them again and then disappeared!!!

Some 12-months later the 29-years-old has resurfaced, and has returned to Brunton Park to work on his fitness as he looks for a new club. Carlisle Manager Neil McDonald told the Official Carlisle United Website:

Matt has asked to train with us as he works on his fitness and sharpness.

“He’s working very hard so he’ll be here with us as he gets himself back up to a decent level

  • I can’t remember who it was that was asking, but here is the answer dude LOL!
Matty is a legend here isn’t he, whenever I hear his name it makes me sad to think about how cruelly things went wrong for him and I think if ONLY he hadn’t been ill he wouldn’t have missed that England friendly before the 2002 World Cup, would have played, then would have gone to the World Cup so wouldn’t have been on the scooter to have had his accident ANYWAY!!!
Good luck to him wherever he ends up, maybe it will be back at Carlisle anyway?!?!

  • I hope so dude, as he deserves it. I would love Rovers to be one of them but that ship has sailed, best to leave things as they were with him.

  • nice one HDM, it was actually me who asked the question, appreciate the speedy follow up LOL. Its nice to see Matty trying to get back into football though is’nt it. If anyone deserves another shot its him and I’m sure he’ll find a new club sooner rather than later.

  • Great news, Im pleased for matty. A great player and a top lad. Im pleased he is finding his feet again and I hope that he can make a name for himself again over the next three years or so.

  • spinaker7081 – I delivered……..eventually LOL!
Good on him and good lukc to him at MK Dons, he’ll do well with them I am sure.

  • good for Matty – my old man is a Palace fan Matty is still a favorite at Selhurst Park as wel as Ewood. What cost hiring a moped on holiday!
